This little trinket dish is made with red clear and iridescent black opaque glass which has a sparkly look to it in the light.  They work quite well together.  Red & iridescent are among the most expensive glass you can buy, this should cost a bit more, but the black was very hard to cut and its unevenness is visible in the design.  Also, it took ages, never again!

This works well on a variety of backgrounds.
